Mama Ethel’s Guide to Love and Healthy Relationships is a must-read! First of all, because it is written by my charming, delightful, clever friend, Ethel. But also because it’s full of sound, biblical advice on how to build a strong, healthy, happy marriage.
Ethel’s writing style is honest, approachable, and pragmatic without being preachy. You will appreciate Ethel’s folksy, matter-of-fact, and sometimes raw presentation.
There is a chapter about listening, a chapter about forgiveness, and even a chapter about how to disagree with one’s spouse respectfully and lovingly. Ethel’s wise counsel is punctuated with humor, honesty, scripture, and real-life experience. Plus, she plainly and frequently points to Yeshua, His words, His teachings, and His ways. I especially appreciate Ethel’s emphasis on repentance, humility, and submission in our marriages and in all our relationships. I can’t imagine a successful marriage without these!

It occurred to me, as I pondered what to say about our friend, Ethel Chadwick, and her new book—that she is the perfect person to expound on matters meaningful and Messianic and to encourage and enhance our spiritual lives.
Ethel is a faithful and devoted follower of her Messiah, Yeshua, an impassioned evangelist for His kingdom—(which is now and is to come)—and an excellent and exuberant host of “Bagels and Blessings,” a show featuring interviews, information and insights, not only from her own unique perspective but also from the viewpoints of many others who follow Yeshua and seek to live for Him.

Ethel Chadwick lives in Western New York state with her husband, Daniel, and adorable cat, Roxy. They have raised three wonderful children together and have two sweet grandchildren. While Daniel is an online faculty for several colleges and universities, Ethel enjoys retirement by dancing, singing, and playing piano. She currently hosts the popular Messianic radio show, “Bagels and Blessings” and is the Worship Director at Congregation Shema Yisrael in Rochester, NY. Ethel appreciates the wonderful encouragement she receives from Daniel. They recently celebrated thirty-four years of marriage and look forward to many more years together!
